Project Ruskeasuo
A custom-designed and built bookshelf for a private client, developed as an early exploration of what later became the MAST shelving system.
The structure uses a central mast to connect the shelves, allowing for an open composition with soft forms. The middle section is kept more open to accommodate display of selected objects and artworks, while the surrounding shelves provide everyday storage.
Using adjustable feet, the structure is compressed between floor and ceiling on one end, and fixed to the wall on the other, creating a stable yet visually light system.
Project Ruskeasuo marked the starting point for the MAST shelving system.
